Lam Research reports increased Q1/2017 earnings and growth in 3DNAND shipments

Lam Research is a OEM with a product portfolio made for Memory and especially 3DNAND Flash memory high volume manufacturing. They supply 300 mm wafer processing equipment for much of the 3DNAND processing modules like, the dielectric multilayer stack deposition by PECVD, stair case etch, the deep high aspect ratio dielectric stack memory cell etch, the ONO stack deposition, blocking oxide, Tungsten gates and also conformal layers for multiple patterning. That is why there is no surprise that Lam is shipping tools when the NAND Flash fabs in Korea and China are transitioning to a 3D geometry and scaling upwards by adding more and more layers to the stack. Latest reports are that SK Hynix is now producing a 72 layer stack NAND architecture.
